Laser head would go back to programmed job origin by default on EAGLECAM / RDCAM powered laser machines. Sometimes, that would be a little boring, especially when the job origin is set on bottom left or bottom right of the design, because the laser head and the X beam would stand in the way of picking up parts after cutting. You can change that behavior by changing Return position in user settings, or set a Docking point (could be anywhere in working area) in EagleWorks.

The Return position and the Docking point features are in conflict with each other in EagleWorks

With the Docking point set to a valid position, and the Return position set to job origin or home position, the laser head could probably crack with parts around the working area.

Please set the Return position to None before using the Docking point function, to let the laser head go to a specific position after working.

Refer to this Technical Reference for more information.

We recommend set the Return position to Absolute origin (home position) instead of setting the Docking point to (0, 0)

Instead of calculating and adding a travelling instruction to the end of the job file in EagleWorks, EAGLECAM control system will send the laser head back to the home position directly.
